Armed Bank Robbery Guilty
Plea
United States Attorney Karen P. Hewitt
announced that Thomas Jackson Rogers pled guilty today
in federal court in San Diego to an indictment charging
him with armed bank robbery in violation of Title
18, United States Code, Sections 2113(a) and (d), and
being a felon in possession of a firearm in violation
of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 922(g)(1)
and 924(a)(2). Rogers entered his plea before United
States District Court Judge Marilyn L. Huff.
According to court records, on April 28, 2006 at approximately
9:40 a.m., Rogers entered the 1st Pacific Bank, 8889
Rio San Diego Drive, San Diego, California. At that
time, Rogers presented a demand note, pointed a gun
at the teller, and gave the teller a black pouch while
saying “Give me all of it.” The teller
placed $1,737.00 in cash in the pouch and Rogers fled
the bank.
Rogers was arrested a week later by the San Diego
Police Department. FBI agents executed a federal search
warrant at a storage locker rented by Rogers and recovered
a handgun.
A sentencing hearing for Rogers is scheduled for July
21, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., before United States District
