Man Pleads Guilty to Possession of Child Pornography and Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
United States Attorney Karen P. Hewitt announced that Jimmy Warren Miller pled guilty today in federal court in San Diego to an Information charging him with one count of possession of child pornography, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252(a)(4)(B), and one count of possession of a prohibited firearm in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 5822, 5845, 5861(c) and 5871. Miller tendered his guilty plea before Magistrate Judge Louisa S. Porter, subject to final acceptance of the plea by United States District Court Judge John A. Houston, at the time of sentencing.
According to the court records, Miller admitted that on or about May 19, 2008, he possessed a computer containing over 600 images of minors, including one file that depicted a naked six-year-old girl, bound to a wire frame bed, engaging in sexually explicit conduct with adults and each other. He also admitted that he possessed a sawed-off 12 gauge shot gun.
Sentencing for Miller is scheduled for December 1, 2008 at 10:30 a.m., before Judge Houston.
This case stems from a nationwide investigation by Federal Bureau of Investigation and assisted by the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, whose members include the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the San Diego Police Department, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the Chula Vista Police Department, the United States Attorney’s Office, the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the United States Marshals Service, the Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, and the El Cajon Police Department.
This case is being brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
