Arrest Made in 1997 Double Homicide Investigation
Edward Dean Hohner, age 35, was arraigned today in State Superior Court, Department 12, on state charges of violating California Penal Code Sections 187(a) and 190.2(a)(3), which makes it a crime to commit murder with special circumstances. Hohner has been charged with the February 21 1997, murders of Rolando Cebreros and Francisco Villalobos, in Oceanside, California.
On Monday, December 8, 2008, Hohner was transferred from the Lompoc Federal Correctional Complex (FCC), Lompoc, California, to San Diego County Jail. Hohner was serving a sentence at Lompoc FCC facility related to federal drug charges.
During today’s hearing, Hohner was denied bail and remains in custody at the San Diego County Jail.
Today’s charges reflect the cumulative efforts of the following law enforcement agencies; the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the San Diego Police Department Cold Case Homicide Team, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.

An arrest itself is not evidence that the defendant committed the crimes charged. The defendant is presumed innocent until the Government meets its burden in court of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
