FBI and San Diego Police Department Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify Armed Bank Robber

The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the Chase Bank, located at 4650 Mission Bay Drive, San Diego, California, on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.

On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at approximately 9:15 a.m. the Chase Bank, located at 4650 Mission Bay Drive, San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown male.  At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and made contact with a bank employee who he immediately ordered to lie on the ground.

The robber then approached a teller station and made contact with two more bank employees.  He ordered the first employee to lie on the ground and the second to provide him with money from the cash drawer.  After receiving a sum of money from the teller, the robber fled the bank on foot through the north exit door.  Throughout the robbery, the robber displayed what appeared to be a black long barreled semi-automatic weapon with a pistol grip and extended magazine.

The robber is described as follows:

  • Sex: Male
  • Race: Unknown
  • Age: Mid to late 20's
  • Height: 6'1
  • Build: Muscular
  • Hair: Black sideburns
  • Clothing: Dark  zip up hooded sweatshirt,  dark baseball cap, light colored, possibly white pants, white v-neck t-shirt, black gloves dark colored sunglasses and wore an ear stud in right ear.
